Nautel has announced its intention to increase the size of the company’s design team. Saying that it already employs one of the largest technical staffs of any radio transmitter company, the latest move aims to grow the team by 50% over 2016. In addition, Nautel will increase its 2017 research and development budget by 40%.
The plans are based on “considerable success over the past year with several significant orders” from radio customers around the world. Kevin Rodgers, Nautel president and CEO, pointed to large-scale orders for Hungary, the Middle East and India, which he says “underscores our ability to handle some of the largest and most challenging projects in the broadcast industry”
The worldwide radio market will continue to be the focus of Nautel’s design efforts as it focuses on innovations for AM, FM and MW transmitters of all power ranges. The company has manufactured more than 15,000 radio transmitters in 177 countries since 1970.
