Tieline to debut new ViA codec
Tieline’s new ViA sets a new standard in wireless broadcasting and fundamentally changes the way you perform live remote outside broadcasts. It delivers the simplest and most intuitive codec user interface available today and going live is literally child’s play. Simply power up, tap “Connect” and go live! Tieline’s Charlie Gawley will demonstrate ViA and the latest in codec technology at IBC booth 8.E74.
BEWARE, the Windows 10 Anniversary Update can change some of your settings! One that caught our attention is the “fast startup” option under the power settings, which is enabled by default but which we recommend disabling. Even it was previously disabled, after applying the Anniversary Update it mysteriously becomes re-enabled. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > System Settings
When enabled, this option causes the computer to effectively go into hibernation when shut down, so that on start-up it picks up where it left off rather than doing a complete restart. Problems occur if the hardware configuration changes while it’s asleep, so this is best avoided if that’s a possibility.
August is certainly a big month in our office with three birthdays and two anniversaries. This year we celebrate a milestone 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY for our Tech Support Manager, Don Coyle and the first year anniversary of our delightful Office Administrator, Amy Jones. Thank you both for your valuable contributions to Sonifex and we look forward to many more successful years.
